K’Norrae was not like any other common dwarf for several reasons. While most of her clan members went the way of fierce warriors who seek glory in the heat of war, miners with an unquelchable lust for wealth or inspiring architects who transform rock into art, she found that her calling was to be a shaman, a wielder of magic and life. She was also a maiden of royalty, one of four children of the leader of her dwarven clan. However, perhaps the most distinguishing and curious thing about her was her birth. Her mother had died delivering K’Norrae, but before taking her last breath, Aswynn, the clan leader’s wife, managed to utter a horrible vision of volcanoes erupting and titans squishing screaming dwarves under their massive feet. No one knew the meaning to this vision (or as some called it, a prophecy); however, the dwarves have never looked at K’Norrae the same since. When she was old enough to be told the truth about her mother and her childbirth, she believed that her destiny laid in the path of shamanism, to find the meaning of the vision and to be a healer to those who are hurt. Her reputation in the dwarven clans became an annoyance and a hinderance to her life, and so she left in search of answers.. any answers that may be of use, or maybe just some folks who would not stare as she walked by. With no particular direction in mind, she headed west into the cities with her bow made from the oldest and strongest trees bordering her city, fine royal ale and a strange totem that had just always seemed to be in her room, but had no idea what it did.
